It’s important to remember your seatbelt. According to the NHTSA, a total of 22,215 passenger vehicle occupants were killed in 2019. Out of those fatalities, 47% were not wearing seat belts. From the analysis of wrecks in 2017, it’s estimated that 2,549 deaths could have been avoided if those people were wearing their seatbelts.
