What if…
Have you ever thought about people or occurrences in your life that are so profound that had they never happened your life would look nothing like it does? Maybe it’s a parent or sibling. That’s the easy answer, of course. Life definitely would be totally different with different siblings or parents. What I am talking about is friends and acquaintances though. What if you never met that one guy in high school that you have been buddies with ever since? What if you never signed up for that class that put you in the same class as that person enabling you to meet? What if you never talked to that one girl at the party? What if you decided on another skill to fund your life other than truck driving?
Sometimes it’s fun to think like that and sometimes is demoralizing. Nevertheless, we make decisions every day that could significantly impact our life or someone else’s and we don’t even realize it. One could truly drive themselves mad by playing “what if”, but I think it’s a good tool for reflection and appreciation.
One thing we can be sure of is that whatever decisions led you to McLeod Express, we are glad they happened. Next week we will be honoring our Drivers of the Year for 2023 as well as a couple retirees. This was no small task narrowing it down to the best of the road, local, and dump divisions. Heck, we even thought about giving it to several people per division but ultimately wanted to just have three winners. Many of you have won Driver of the Month which is a great honor as well. Even though there are only three Drivers of the Year, there are many of you that are worthy of the title. We appreciate each and every one of you for the hard work and professionalism you have each day, week, and year.
Congratulations to the 2023 Drivers of the Year!
