As you probably are aware, Truck Driver Appreciation Week is next week. We are abundantly thankful for each and every one of you out on the road for us. Without you, we would not be here. It may sound cliche, but we think driver appreciation week should be every week. We may not always give you a pat on the back but we sure hope that we treat in a way that makes you feel good about working for McLeod. If not, please let us know. Our goal is always to be a good place for you to call home. Trucking has its good days and bad but if we work through everything with an open mind and a goal-oriented approach then together we win.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at one of our cookouts next week. The schedule is listed below. We have shirts for everyone as usual and lots of door prizes. While we can’t give door prizes to everyone, typically about 2/3 of the fleet gets something extra. Come get you some! In all seriousness, thank you for everything you do. The life of a trucker is not an easy one. But here you are doing it, and doing it well.
Monday – Cookout in Lafayette from 3p-6p EST
Tuesday – Cookout in Decatur from 11a-4p CST
Wednesday – Cookout in Decatur from 11a-7p CST
Thursday – Cookout in Springfield from 1p-4p CST
Friday – Food Truck in Decatur from 1p-4p CST
If you have not been receiving our text alerts the past couple of weeks then please email Mike Ernst at mernst@mcleodexpress.com. We started this with the intent of having one avenue that can reach everyone. Some divisions use Qualcomm and some don’t. Some people check email and some don’t. However, when is the last time you ignored a text message. We plan to only send these out once a week(you can opt out). It does work as two-way messaging so if you have a question or need to get something off your chest this is another outlet for you. Mike Ernst, your friendly neighborhood Recruiting Manager, will see these.
